We've arrived!

It's our second full day in London. Here's a brief recap of what's happened so far:
Tuesday: We get off the red eye and take a car to our temporary housing. So forget the picture below, here's what our place actually looks like...very nice and clean, but our suitcases barely fit so we now have them setup on the kitchen table.

We took a long nap and then headed out to explore! We walked through Chelsea and Kensington and up through Picadilly Circus (it looks like the UK version of times square). We found a really cute pub tucked away in Mayfair for dinner and had fish and chips!

Wednesday: We woke up early, Bobby made his new specialty - scottish porridge - for breakfast (surprisingly not too bad) and then we met with our real estate agent, Rory, for a look at about 7 different places for the good portion of the day. After we met with him, we went back to some of the places we liked to walk around the area and get a feel of the neighborhood. We loved Highbury/Islington - it's a bit out of the city, but has a bunch of little shops, pubs and restaurants. There were a couple funny places we looked at - one was a brand new building (we loved the flat), but in the midst of two projects and downstairs on the first floor was a health club by day and bar by night. They gave us a tour of the health club - it was so bizzare...tons of vitamins, a room with a bath filled with gold dust, a bright yellow armchair that they said was a healing chair from Russia?!? Then we walked by the bar at night and it was belly dancing night - HA! Needless to say, we decided to look at a few more places. Afterwards we went to an italian cafe in South Kensington for dinner, then walked around the area - its beautiful where we're staying.

Thursday: Still looking for a flat! We spent all day walking around the area of Islington and stopping into real estate offices. We saw another flat today and have another appointment tomorrow. It has been really time consuming, but we will find something eventually! Now it's off to the grocery store and we're going to attempt to make dinner at our temporary place. If it doesn't go so well, we could be doing double time on scottish porridge!

More updates to come soon!

Glad to hear that there was no mention of either of you being 'almost arrested' upon entry into the country, a la Craig & Amanda...and glad to hear you made it there safely!! Good luck w your search for some new digs. Maybe Madonna & Guy Ritchie have a guest house that you could use?? :)
